South Pacific 2007

Madchen Studios was asked this year to donate their photography for the local Musical Theatre. We went on location on October 29 and shot 26 groups in just under 3 hours. My husband (and second shooter) was instrumental in making the night flow so easily. He was my director, props manager, lighting tech and assistant. The photos turned out awesome and I believe we produced some nice images for the program.

Gorgeous Couple

I have been wanting to blog this entry since last month, but I wanted to get permission before I posted any of these couples photos online. Emily and Blair contacted me in the summer to do some enagement photos for them in the fall. The day that we chose was windy, but we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. the fall colour were rich and bright. Emily was beautiful and I would have to say the Blair makes her glow. These two could definately teach a class in how to be the perfect couple, because that's exactly what they were!

I had the pleasure of shooting an old friend and her daughter. Sheri warned me from the get go that Katelyn was crabby, so I was rather surprised when she wanted to hold my hand on the way to the first location. At her age she was more interested in everything but getting her photo taken. We managed to get a few good candids while she was playing. It's a good thing sheri has a great smile at a moments notice because she had to be ready as soon as her daughter was. We played at the park for a a bit and then went back to the studio to take some more shots. My daughter blew some bubbles to keep katie mesmorized for a second or two. That girl sure looks like her mom!

Ashley's Grad Photos

Back in April I had the priveledge of shooting a lovely girl named Ashley. The portraits were taken to replace the grad photos that she had taken at school. This was my first shoot with my studio lights. I think everything went well and It was a lot of fun. I am excited that we finally went through the photos and chose some images so that we could finally close the file.

Assignment 2-Document a party

In my wedding photography class we were asked to document a party. I decided to have a few people over for cocktails before we headed to the policeman's ball. We got a few photos in and were really starting to get into the mood to take more when we got interupted. There was an emergency at work and one or two of us had to leave abruptly. After the ball we came back and snapped a few more. These are our results.

One strand of pearls, on bare back and one light and one reflector

I had seen a photo that I really liked earlier and wanted to reproduce it. Thinking that I wanted to keep things simple and spur of the moment, I took a second on friday night to shoot. No make up, and I didn't do any primping, the only prop I had was a pearl necklace that I wore to my wedding. I am excited to share these shots with you. Enjoy!

Tammy, and my two Favourite kids!

I spent the early evening shooting my sister in law and neice and nephew. The kids were way more interested in playing with my kids than takng their photos Eventually we got their attention and were able to shoot away some pretty precious moments.

School starts again. This time for the photographer

I am taking some more online courses in photography. You can never learn too much right? This weeks assignment was to use a lens that we love and shoot some very fast portraits in our normal style. Then after 10 minutes, we were asked to shoot using a different lens than what we normally use and try to shoot from angles that we never do. It was tough, but I did manage to get some good ones. My friend Brian was chosen to be my model as I don't get a chance to shoot many men.

Andrew's Wedding

It seems as though the rash of weddings that my friends are involved in is coming to an end. It's sad really, I believe there is just a few left. I took my camera, and limited flash and lens as I was not the official photographer on this wedding. It's nice to just be a guest and friend when you want to be able to take it all in. These photos were not just taken by me, but my husband (my usual second shooter) and my friend J.P. The night went by in such a fury of fun, I really don't know who took what shot anymore.

The Remorse Code

My husband, brother and their friends played thier first show! I was lucky enough to be asked to be their official photographer. The boys were so nervous at first, but once they started playing a calm stated to set in. Everything went really well and then Marty broke a string. One of the other bands there lent him thier guitar and he was able to keep playing. Here are some of my favourites from the night.
